The Data Support Specialist is a role on the Data Team in the IT department for Randolph Public Schools. The Data Support Specialist provides critical support to the Information Technology department for Randolph Public Schools. The position combines work related to Data Control, helpline functions, user administration, and assisting the data team with various analysis and related tasks. Expectations for the successful candidate are:
Data Team: Collect, analyze, process and maintain student data for local and state reporting. The state report is processed and submitted 3 times during each school year. a. Ensures the completeness and accuracy of student records in the district's SIS. Works with the data team to create efficiencies, automation, and leverage technical tools such as AI agents to enhance accuracy and processing time for the records. b. Work closely with all departments and school to maintain all student and guardian contact data elements. E.G. SPED, ML, Title1, McKinney-Vento, etc.. c. Work with the Registrar to facilitate the registration process for all incoming students. Reviewing and processing required documents. Enroll when approved and create the student record, Gmail and schedule when needed. d. Assist with state reports and support tech team as needed.
Helpline Functions - Assists in answering the IT main phone line. a. Performs first level help desk supporting for the district's vatious technologies, assisting with triage and directing clients to the best resources for assistance as necessary. b. Performs password resets and tier 1 troubleshooting of issues related to system logins and role-based access management for various applications. c. Supports all staff with use of SIS for grading, scheduling, reports, contacts, attendance, Data Analytics, and other software functions.
User administration - Manage SIS and Gmail accounts for students and staff. a. Activities include though are not limited to setting up new users, troubleshooting account syncing, unblocking, managing distribution groups, Organizational Units, O365 licenses, Active Directory. b. Update staff data as needed, accounts, passwords, access, licenses, position and building changes. Work closely with HR to set up incoming new hires efficiently, create necessary accounts and access according to position. Removing access and suspending access as we are notified of exiting staff. Disable student access and Gmail when they leave the district.
