We recognize program quality and give parents information to make choices about their children's care and education.Rhode Island Association for the Education of Young ChildrenJob DescriptionJob Title: Data Systems CoordinatorFLSA Status: ExemptRegular/Temp: Grant-funded, regular, hybrid (3 days in office in Rhode Island required)ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESData CollectionEstablish the scope and detail of agency data reporting and determine data needed to be collected and the appropriate resources for specific projectsFormulate, implement, and enforce proper data collection policies and procedures for all existing databasesEnsure quality and timely data collection techniques are established for reporting agenciesEducate and train staff on proper data input processesData System ManagementCoordinate the flow of information between RIAEYC and funders to ensure all deliverables are met in the most efficient, effective and expeditious mannerReview and evaluate the data requirements of grant funding in conformance with state and federal laws, rules and regulations to ensure compliance with the provisions of these rules, laws and regulationsDetermine the consistency of data policies, procedures and methods to initiate alterations as appropriateMaintain close working relationship with software vendors and ensure that all vendor updates are properly installed and rolled out and that data system is operationalWork closely with DHS on database integrationTroubleshoot data submission errors and data error issuesPerform and document procedures for data preparation including data cleaning, standardization and analysisDevelop data collection and evaluation methodologies, including format design, project criteria and requirements, data compilation, relevancy and usage.Data Reporting and AnalysisPrepare detailed and comprehensive reports as related to RIAEYC processes and achievements related to grant fundingUnderstand and ensure privacy law and standardsEvaluate current systems to improve operations and application processesPrepare monthly, quarterly, and annual data reports for distributionDevelop ad-hoc reports as necessaryConsult with staff on data coding problems and assists in developing means to correct the problemsFoster relationships with other state agencies that have interest in RIAEYC dataAttend and participate in related Data MeetingsRepresent RIAEYC needs regarding information to be included in data reports produced by the statewide early childhood data systemProvides on-going consultation and technical assistanceAssist by performing other necessary administrative tasks and research in preparation of grant deliverablesRelated work as requiredNon-Technical Skills and BehaviorProfessional skill set for collaborating with and supporting members of a team.Outstanding communication skills; excellent reading and writing skills.Ability to respond professionally and respectfully as needed to different situations.Professional, friendly, and respectful demeanor in all interactions.Ability toExercise sound judgment.Take initiative to solve problems.Maintain professional demeanor regardless of internal or external concerns.Handle confidential information related to programs, children, and families.Complete multiple tasks concurrently with a consistent professional demeanor.QUALIFICATIONSTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty.
