Job Description

As a data scientist, you are excited at the prospect of unlocking the secrets held by a data set and are fascinated by the possibilities presented by IoT, machine learning, and artificial intelligence.

The Opportunity

In an increasingly connected world, massive amounts of structured and unstructured data open new opportunities. As a data scientist at Booz Allen, you can help turn these complex data sets into useful information to solve global challenges.

Responsibilities

  • Use your leadership skills and data science expertise to create real-world impact
  • Work closely with clients to understand their questions and needs and then dig into their data-rich environments to find the pieces of their information puzzle
  • Guide teammates and lead the development of algorithms and systems
  • Use the right combination of tools and frameworks to turn sets of disparate data points into objective answers to advise your clients as they make informed decisions
  • Provide a deep understanding of the data, what it all means, and how it can be used

Requirements

  • 5 years of experience with data analysis, including recognizing and investigating data quality and various data types, discerning structure and relationships within data
  • 5 years of experience with data visualization, including creating charts with basic design principles
  • 4 years of experience with data pipeline engineering, including executing data transformation stages
  • Programming languages, including Python, R, or SQL for data manipulation and analysis
  • Experience working in Foundry, including building or maintaining data pipelines with Code Repository
  • Knowledge of database-driven application development and design
  • Ability to develop and maintain interactive dashboards and visualizations in Foundry, Power BI, Tableau, or Qlik to communicate data insights to business stakeholders
  • Ability to collaborate with business analysts or users to clarify requirements, work closely with different business groups to comprehend and respond to their reporting and dashboard needs, be self-motivated, and pay strict attention to detail
  • Secret clearance
  • Bachelors degree in CS, Data Science, or Computer Engineering
  • Nice to have: experience with analytics and data science techniques, including AI/ML, experience with DoD clients, experience with Army data systems, knowledge of front-end design and data visualization techniques and best practices, ability to learn technical concepts quickly and communicate with multiple functional groups, possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills, possession of strong analytical problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Masters degree in CS, Data Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field
  • Clearance applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information

Salary Range

The projected compensation range for this position is $90,000.00 to $225,000.00 annualized USD.

Work Model

  • If this position is listed as remote or hybrid, you will periodically work from a Booz Allen or client site facility.
  • If this position is listed as onsite, you will work with colleagues and clients in person as needed for the specific role.
