Teradata Ecosystem: Expert-level knowledge of Teradata database, node management, Viewpoint administration, Tools and Utilities (TTU), and workload management.
System Administration: Proficiency in software upgrades, provisioning, maintenance, and performance tuning.
Scripting & OS: Strong command of BASH, Perl, Python, Glink, and extensive Unix/Linux administration.
Monitoring & Support: Experience with ecosystem health monitoring, PSIM (Platform Service Intelligent Monitoring) administration, and backup/recovery procedures.
Data & Cloud: Expertise in ETL processes, statistics, cloud computing fundamentals, resource allocation, and networking (preferably MS Azure).
Security & Compliance: Experience with audits, security planning, and adherence to federal compliance standards (e.g., NIST 800-53, IRS Pub 1075, SSA, and Medicaid requirements).
Platform Administration: Manage three distinct environments (Production, Development/Disaster Recovery, and Test) supporting over 10,000 users and 40 Terabytes of data across multiple departments.
Strategic Planning: Research, coordinate, and define long-term enterprise data warehouse (EDW) strategies, technical planning, and implementation roadmaps in collaboration with management and vendor personnel.
Operational Oversight: Manage vendor communication, trouble reporting, escalated troubleshooting, and release/patch management.
Consultation: Provide operating system guidance, EDW security expertise, and advice to agencies regarding disaster recovery planning and business applications.
Performance Management: Proactively monitor platform performance, resolve issues, and provide direct technical expertise to database administrators and enterprise specialists.
