Data Warehouse/BI Developer

Location: Richmond, VA

Duration: 6 Months Onsite

Seeking for a Data Warehouse Developer who can work independently, collaborate with Business Systems Analysts and Project Managers, and convert business needs into actionable data solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong skills in SQL Server, data modeling using Kimball methodologies, and developing data marts, SSIS ETL pipelines, and data flow design documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and understand source systems for data profiling.
  • Design dimensional models and star schemas for analytics and reporting.
  • Create detailed mapping documents to translate business rules into technical specs.
  • Develop and optimize SQL Server data marts, including tables, views, and stored procedures.
  • Maintain database projects in Visual Studio for repeatable deployments.
  • Manage code changes and collaboration workflows using GIT.
  • Build and monitor SSIS ETL packages for reliable data mart loading.
  • Conduct data validation testing to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Optional: Create basic dashboards or visualizations using Power BI or Tableau.
