Database Administrator (DBA / DBRE) - Cloud Database Operations & Reliability Engineering

Role Summary: Bambu Lab is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Database Administrator (DBA / DBRE) to join our US branch. In this role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operations, monitoring, and reliability of our cloud and local database environments. You will drive engineering solutions to ensure system stability, performance, and compliance with data privacy regulations.

Responsibilities

1. Cloud Operations: Own day-to-day operations, monitoring, and reliability of cloud databases (AWS RDS / Aurora, GCP Cloud SQL, etc.) and local databases (MySQL / PostgreSQL / Redis / SQL Server, etc.).
2. Reliability Engineering (DBRE): Define and measure database SLOs, strengthen monitoring/alerting, and manage database resources using IaC (Terraform) with an emphasis on elasticity and stability.
3. Backup & DR: Define and execute backup strategies and regular recovery drills to ensure data reliability and business continuity (RPO / RTO).
4. Performance Optimization: Conduct SQL review, slow-query optimization, index planning, and parameter tuning.
5. High Availability: Maintain highly available database architectures through replication, clustering, and failover management.
6. Data Security & Compliance: Implement RBAC, auditing, encryption, and masking; ensure all data-layer security policies are strictly followed.
7. Collaboration: Coordinate with local development, SRE, and security teams to drive database automation.
8. Education & Experience: Bachelor''s degree in Computer Science or a related field is preferred; however, equivalent professional work experience will be fully considered in lieu of a formal degree. 3+ years of DBA / DBRE experience is required.
9. Technical Proficiency: Strong expertise in MySQL or PostgreSQL. Experience with Redis, SQL Server, or Oracle is a plus.
10. Cloud Expertise: Proficient with AWS (RDS / Aurora) or GCP (Cloud SQL); experience with elastic scaling and HA configurations.
11. Automation: Proficient in using IaC (Terraform) and scripting (Python / Shell) to automate database tasks.
12. Observability: Hands-on experience with monitoring tools (Prometheus / Grafana / Zabbix).
13. Language & Soft Skills: Working proficiency in English for cross-team collaboration. Strong root-cause analysis and postmortem skills.

Compensation & Immigration Information Pay Scale: $88,000 - $150,000 annual base salary Work Authorization: We welcome all applicants legally authorized to work in the United States.
