Database Administrator Project Lead

Job Title: Database Administrator – Project Lead | IDMS DBA (12839)
Client: State of South Carolina / Clemson University – SCDHHS Project
Location: Seneca, SC 100% Remote – Continental U.S. only
Work Hours: Must be comfortable working EST hours
Duration: 12 Months

Job Summary: The consultant will work closely with application development teams, z/OS system support staff, and database administrators to support IDMS application and infrastructure databases.
Responsibilities include hands-on IDMS monitoring and support, database performance tuning, maintaining test/staging/production environments, developing database operating procedures, advising development teams on data model changes, and participating in a 24x7 on-call rotation.

Required Skills

• 15+ years – IDMS deployment and operations in z/OS / IBM z-series mainframe environments
• 10+ years – IDMS SQL Option, relational IDMS databases, SQL access to native IDMS
• 15+ years – IDMS Security including ADS/O, IDD, and relational database objects
• 15+ years – IDMS application programming using COBOL and ADS/O, both native and SQL
• 12+ years – IBM High Level Assembler (HLASM) on z/OS
• 10+ years – IDMS Perfmon, online monitoring, performance analysis, and reporting

Preferred Skills

• RACF security
• Application change management
• Healthcare / PHI / PII experience
• Medicaid Management Information Systems (MMIS)
• Medicaid operations
• Public sector / State Government experience
• Secondary MS SQL Server knowledge is desirable.

Additional Skills
Strong project planning, technical effort estimation, resource allocation, written/oral communication, stakeholder collaboration, and the ability to work independently in a high-visibility environment.
Education
Bachelor's degree in a technical, business, or related field, or equivalent work experience. Master's degree is desirable.
