Summary:

Goldbelt Nighthawk is seeking a Database Administrator VI for The Indian Affairs (IA). The Database Administrator VI will be responsible to ensure that the tasks required of the performance-based statement of work (PBSOW) are complete and deliverables are executed on time, and to the satisfaction of the Task Lead, Project Manager and government customer.

 

Preference will be given to Alaska Native and/or American Indian applicants.

Responsibilities:

Essential Job Functions:

  • Backup and recovery of systems
  • Patching of systems
  • Providing Tier II/III support to lower tiers
  • Performance tuning, hardware upgrades, operational configurations, resource optimization, etc.
Qualifications:

Necessary Skills and Knowledge:

  • Has the ability to design a database to the third norm.
  • Has the ability to write disaster recovery plans.
  • Has the ability to develop project management documentation.
  • Has the ability to work without guidance.
  • Has the ability to manage and initiate projects.
  • Works on Servers as SME for database projects.
  • Knowledgeable in:
    • Microsoft .Net C# (version 3.0 +)
    • Microsoft Services (IIS 7.0, Application Delivery, etc.)
    • MS SQL Enterprise (2010 +)
    • Oracle applications Oracle Database (10i +)
    • Oracle Forms
    • MySQL
    • Microsoft PowerShell
    • Database design (according to industry best practices)
    • Oracle procedure, function, and package design and creation
    • Oracle Application
    • Express tools J2EE
    • HTML
    • PHP
    • Python XML
    • General web-based operations and maintenance

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associates Degree or combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum six (6) years relational database management experience required.
  • Customer Service requires a minimum of six (6) years of related technical experience in supporting various database platforms data center level.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
