    How to Apply

    Responsibilities*

    • Develop database for clinic research studies using Microsoft Access and Excel
    • Conduct data cleaning, developing a system to conduct data checks, developing 2x2 tables initially and formal data tables in final manuscripts as well as grants, make suggestions to improve data collection processes
    • Write and edit basic statistical programs to clean, manage, merge and analyze data, and prepare data reports to participating sites with meticulous attention to detail.
    • Work closely with the research team to ensure accurate collecting and recording of data; develop a working understanding of the data that is being collected and the content area under study
    • Implement study-specific procedures to ensure compliance with regulations and internal best practices
    • Data Support - Develop, test, and recommend report formats and graphical representations of data. Develop and deliver written, graphical, and/or verbal presentations of the data. Respond in a timely manner to data requests from internal and external collaborators. Ability to work in a large research team and with a study statistician.
    • Update and report relevant results to stakeholders and funders in a timely manner.

    All work and analyses must be performed using an annotated program (preferably Stata or SAS), as all work must be reproducible, with thorough preparation and maintenance of technical documentation of all data and analysis files.

    In addition to the data analyst role, the candidate will assist with other field work (on-site in nursing homes) including but not limited to specimen collection, data abstraction and data entry.

    This position will also be responsible to present project related updates and issues in joint team meetings with opportunities to present at national meetings.

    Required Qualifications*

    • Minimum of a bachelor's degree in biostatistics/statistics with focus on medicine/healthcare.
    • Well-developed skills in using database query tools and reporting software.
    • Detail-oriented with strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
    • Exceptional verbal and written communications skills including the ability to appropriately interact with external collaborators.
    • Must be a team-player with demonstrated ability to work well with others.

    Desired Qualifications*

    • Masters level training.
    • Knowledge of health services research design and fundamental epidemiologic principles.
    • Knowledge of or experience in the delivery of patient care.

    Additional Information

    This is a one-year term limited appointment, with the possibility of renewal or promotion based on available funding and/or performance.
