Job Title: Apache Accumulo Engineer

Overview:
Join a dynamic team in San Antonio, TX, as an Apache Accumulo Engineer on a challenging 5-year TS/SCI contract. This pivotal role offers the opportunity to work hands-on with cutting-edge big data technologies within a highly secure environment. As an expert in Apache Accumulo, you will be instrumental in maintaining, securing, and modernizing a sophisticated data platform that supports critical analytics, ingestion, graph-processing, and cyber-analytics workflows. Required Skills:
  • Extensive experience with Apache Accumulo in enterprise or large-scale environments
  • Proven expertise in supporting Accumulo-based ingestion, analytics, graph-processing, or cyber-analytics workflows
  • Strong knowledge of automating Accumulo management, including backups, table configuration, and performance monitoring
  • Proficiency in Java microservices development that interacts with Accumulo
  • Hands-on experience with distributed big-data ecosystems and data security best practices
  • Ability to troubleshoot, optimize, and secure complex database systems

Nice to Have Skills:
  • Experience with other NoSQL databases or big data tools (e.g., Hadoop, Spark, HBase)
  • Knowledge of data visualization or analytics tools integrated with Accumulo
  • Familiarity with cyber-analytics or threat detection workflows
  • Prior experience working in highly secure, sensitive environments

Preferred Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field (Master’s preferred)
  • 5+ years of experience working with Apache Accumulo and distributed database systems
  • Relevant security clearances or clearable background

Other Requirements:
  • Must be willing to work on-site in San Antonio, TX
  • Ability to pass security and background screening for TS/SCI clearance
  • Willingness to support client needs in a fast-paced, high-security environment
