We are seeking a Database Engineer Contractor to support a large-scale Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) analytics engagement. This role focuses on advanced SQL development, cloud-based data ingestion, dashboard enablement, and practical application of agentic and generative AI tools. They will work with globally distributed team members to develop reliable data solutions, process healthcare transaction and EDI data, improve analytics workflows, and support rapid delivery in a fast-paced environment.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Support in writing and optimizing complex SQL queries in Amazon Redshift to support RCM analytics and reporting.
- Analyze query performance, identify bottlenecks, and apply tuning techniques to improve processing speed.
- Transform and prepare healthcare transaction and EDI data for analytics and dashboard consumption.
- Build and maintain data ingestion pipelines using AWS Glue, Amazon S3, and Amazon Redshift.
- Develop Python scripts and Jinja templates to create reusable, parameterized dashboard queries.
- Profile data, investigate quality issues, and perform validation and reconciliation across datasets.
- Use agentic and generative AI tools to support data profiling, code development, testing, documentation, and quality assurance.
- Build practical solutions using tools such as Amazon Bedrock, Langflow, Claude, GitHub Copilot, or comparable platforms.
- Create and refine Apache Superset dashboards based on evolving business and analytical requirements.
- Troubleshoot data, pipeline, query, and dashboard issues and implement sustainable fixes.
- Participate in technical discussions, code reviews, testing, and deployment activities.
- Collaborate with India-based colleagues and globally distributed team members.
- Communicate progress, technical findings, dependencies, and delivery risks clearly.
- Adapt to changing priorities and contribute to delivery in a fast-moving environment.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- 2+ years of advanced SQL experience, preferably with Amazon Redshift.
- Experience with query optimization, performance tuning, and complex data transformations.
- Proficiency in Python.
- Experience with Jinja or a similar templating framework.
- Hands-on experience with AWS Glue, Amazon S3, and Amazon Redshift.
- Experience developing or supporting cloud-based data ingestion pipelines.
- Experience with dashboard development using Apache Superset or a comparable BI platform.
- Hands-on experience using agentic or generative AI tools for development, data analysis, or quality assurance.
- Familiarity with healthcare data, revenue cycle management, EDI, claims, billing, payment, eligibility, or remittance data.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively across time zones.
- Comfortable working in a contract-based, fast-paced delivery environment.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with healthcare transaction and EDI data formats.
- Knowledge of data quality, reconciliation, and profiling practices.
- Familiarity with AWS-based analytics architecture.
- Experience integrating AI tools into data engineering or software development workflows.
- Consulting, contractor, or enterprise analytics experience.
The expected pay range for this contract assignment is $70-$80 per hour. The exact pay rate will vary based on skills, experience, and location and will be determined by the third-party whose employees provide services to Deloitte.
