Our client has a brand new opportunity for a qualified
Datacenter Technician to join their team
onsite in Cincinnati, OH. This Technician is to provide onsite "hands and feet” support in a fast-paced data center environment. This role focuses on hardware support, cabling, asset management, and coordination with remote engineering and facilities teams.
Duties and Responsibilities:Perform hands and feet support for server, network, and infrastructure tasks
Install, rack, and cable hardware per client standards
Run, label, and troubleshoot structured cabling (copper and fiber)
Assist with server builds, hardware installs, and drive swaps
Verify equipment status (LEDs, connectivity, basic diagnostics)
Support Level 2/Level 3 teams with troubleshooting activities
Track and manage asset inventory, moves/adds/changes (MACs)
Handle equipment shipping/receiving and maintain accurate records
Execute work orders within defined service windows and change control processes
Maintain data center cleanliness and adhere to safety standards
Coordinate closely with facilities teams for power, space, and environmental needs
Minimum 1 to 3+ years of data center operations or IT support experience
Hands-on experience with servers, racks, and network equipment (switches, firewalls)
Hands-on experience with basic networking and cabling standards
Hands-on experience with data center infrastructure (PDUs, UPS, rack layouts)
Familiarity with asset tracking and inventory management
Familiarity with basic OS interaction and remote management tools (e.g., iLO/DRAC)
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Ability to follow direction and communicate effectively with technical teams
Comfortable working onsite in a structured, process-driven environment
Experience with SAN/NAS environments preferred
Knowledge of network topology and redundancy concepts preferred
Prior experience supporting enterprise or colocation data centers preferred
Strong attention to detail and reliability
Ability to execute tasks independently while following established procedures
Team-oriented mindset with solid communication skills
Wage Range :
The rate for this position is between
$26.25 - $35.00 per hour, unless local minimum wage is higher. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
