Job Title: L1 Data Center TechnicianLocation: Portland, OR (Onsite)Rate: $27.5/hr on W2Employment: ContractMust be comfortable working in a rotational shift environment (No Night Shift).Looking for an experienced L1 Data Center Technician with 2–3 years of hands-on data center experience.
Top Skills Required:• Strong understanding of data center components and hardware
• Hands-on troubleshooting and break-fix experience
• Cabling, labeling, cable management, and documentation discipline
Key Responsibilities:• Perform rack & stack activities for servers, network devices, and storage equipment
• Handle fiber and copper cabling, patching, labeling, and cable management
• Support hardware installation, relocation, and decommissioning
• Manage hardware inventory, asset tracking, spares, and RMA coordination
• Provide L1 troubleshooting support for server hardware and network connectivity issues
• Perform remote hands support including cable reseating, power cycling, and hardware replacements
• Monitor alerts, update tickets, and maintain accurate documentation
Required Technical Skills:• Basic networking knowledge (IP, switching, patching)
• Server hardware knowledge
• Fiber & Ethernet cabling experience
• Experience with ticketing tools (ServiceNow preferred)
• Basic console tools knowledge (SSH, PuTTY)
