    Day Hab Registered Nurse Plainview location Family Friendly Daytime hours! Mon-Fri 35hrs

    AHRC Nassau provides OPWDD-approved Day Habilitation Services in over 30 locations across Nassau County. We provide no cost door-to door transportation, medical oversight by registered nurses and an engaged staff who provide meaningful and person-centered experiences each and every day.

    Qualifications:

    • NY State Licensed RN
    • Prior experience supporting people with intellectual and other developmental disabilities preferred
    • Excellent oral/written communication and organizational skills
    • Above average attendance and performance.

    Primary duties and responsibilities include but not limited to:

    To provide nursing oversight to people that attend the Day Habilitation program, and support and guidance to the staff.

    • Provides medical oversight and medical assessment of all people that attend the Day Habilitation to ensure their safety and well- being
    • Provide continuous training and support to the staff in order for them to efficiently meet each person’s medical needs
    • Administer first aid as needed or instruct staff on necessary medical interventions
    • Reviews all medical records and paperwork, including annual physicals and medical visit appointments, on a regular basis and following doctor’s orders as prescribed
    • Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to ensure all medical concerns are addressed
    • Acts as a liaison with the family, residences and MD to coordinate care
    • Ensure that all medical documentation is comprehensive and conforms with agency policies and procedures and is maintained in the person’s medical chart
    • Provide supervision to the LPN, and will be available to the LPN for any medical assessment or medical concern
    • Ensure implementation of all new medical policies and procedures by training staff and observation of practices.
