Description
Set Pay Rate: $18.90 per hour
Shift: Monday- Friday, 8:00 am- 4:30 pm
Job Summary:
The Lead Porter is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment in Child Development Centers. This role provides hospital-grade cleaning services, responds to special cleaning requests, and interacts professionally with staff, children, families, and government personnel.
Essential Functions:
Clean and disinfect classrooms, restrooms, kitchens, break rooms, and common areas
Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and sanitize floors and surfaces
Clean windows, mirrors, furniture, toys, and child activity equipment
Restock restroom supplies and remove trash
Respond to special cleaning requests and emergencies as needed
Operate floor care equipment and perform routine floor maintenance
Safely use and store cleaning chemicals and equipment
Assist with inventory, special event setup, and other custodial duties
Report maintenance issues and follow all safety, security, and contract requirements
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Six months of custodial experience preferred, ideally in a child care or healthcare setting
Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. regularly and up to 50 lbs. as needed
Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and work independently
Strong customer service skills and attention to detail
