Recovery 1, a Waste Connections company, is hiring a Tip Floor Analyzer to support safe and efficient operations at our Tacoma construction and demolition (C&D) recycling facility.
This role monitors incoming loads, identifies contaminants, directs traffic, and performs general labor tasks that help keep materials moving through the recycling process. This position is fast-paced, hands-on, and essential to maintaining a safe and productive work environment.
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 6:00 am to 4:30 pm
Starting Pay: $22.00 to $26.00/HR, depending on experience
Key Responsibilities:
Tip Floor Analysis:
Inspect incoming loads for contaminants, prohibited items, and safety risks.
Identify and classify materials to ensure they are routed correctly for processing.
Communicate hazards or unusual materials to operators and leadership.
Direct customer and truck traffic safely through the tipping floor.
Maintain clear communication with equipment operators to prevent congestion and hazards.
Monitor the movement of vehicles around heavy equipment.
Assist with debris cleanup and maintain a safe and organized work area.
Support sorting activities as needed to help keep materials flowing.
Perform additional site tasks at the direction of supervisors.
Work Environment:
This position works in an active industrial recycling facility and may include exposure to:
Varying weather conditions in both indoor and outdoor areas.
Dust, dirt, wood, metal, and other construction debris.
Strong or unpleasant odors common in recycling environments.
Rodents or insects, which can be present in C&D and waste-handling facilities.
High-noise areas with frequent movement of heavy equipment.
Standing, walking, bending, and climbing stairs for extended periods.
Handling and moving materials up to 50-75 lbs.
All required personal protective equipment (PPE) is provided, and employees are expected to follow site safety protocols at all times.
Minimum Requirements:
Ability to work safely around heavy equipment in a high-traffic industrial environment.
Comfortable standing, walking, and climbing stairs for extended periods.
Ability to lift 50-75 lbs unassisted.
Valid driver's license and clear driving record
Ability to work in varying indoor/outdoor conditions.
Reliable attendance and ability to work overtime if needed.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in recycling, construction, warehouse, or C&D environments.
Familiarity with material types commonly found in C&D loads.
Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
