Day Care Assistant\n \nResponsible for supervising children, supporting teachers with daily activities and lesson plans, and maintaining a safe, clean, and nurturing environment. Key duties include assisting with feeding, hygiene, and potty training; preparing snacks; and communicating with parents and staff. Essential qualifications often include a high school diploma, experience with children, and CPR/first aid certification, along with patience and strong communication skills. \n \nJob Responsibilities: \n \nChild supervision and care: \n \nAlways ensure the safety and well-being of children. \n \nSupervise children during playtime, activities, and meals. \n \nAssist with basic care needs like diapering, potty training, and hygiene. \n \nSupport for teachers and activities: \n \nAssist lead teachers with lesson preparation and execution. \n \nImplement educational and recreational activities, such as arts, crafts, and learning games. \n \nHelp maintain routines and schedules for activities, rest, and playtime. \n \nEnvironment and safety: \n \nMaintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment. \n \nEnsure toys and equipment are clean and in good condition. \n \nFollow all health and safety standards. \n \nCommunication : \n \nCommunicate with parents about their child's progress and daily activities. \n \nCollaborate with other staff members to ensure consistency in care and approach. \n \nRequirements \n \nMust be at least 18 years of age. \n \nHigh School diploma or equivalent. \n \nObtain NC Early Childhood Credential (NCECC) (Preferred); or completion of 3 semester hours in early childhood education, or relevant experience; or at least two years of documented early childhood experience; or have at least one year of early childhood work experience and complete .5 continuing education credits annually. \n \nCPR and First Aid certification are required. \n \nHealth Screen including TB Test \n \nA clear criminal background check in the State of North Carolina; including FBI and state policy checks. and health screening (including a TB test). \n \nEarly Childhood Credentials or enrolled in class within the first 6 months of employment. \n \nSuccessful completion of Pro Solutions training. \n \nSuccessful completion of Recognizing & Responding to Suspicions of Child Maltreatment. \n \nKey skills include patience, creativity, strong communication and interpersonal skills, adaptability, and physical stamina. \n\n
