Union County Community Action, Inc. (UCCA) is seeking an experienced and dependable Lead Cook to oversee meal preparation and kitchen operations.  This position plays an important role in supporting children’s health, nutrition, and development by preparing nutritious meals in a safe and sanitary kitchen environment.Starting Rate: Up to $15.34 per hour Schedule: Monday–Friday 6:30am-2:30pm (40 hours/week)Why You’ll Love Working at UCCA

• Prepare and serve nutritious meals and snacks according to approved menus
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness and food safety standards
• Order food and maintain kitchen inventory and supplies
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
• Prepare meals according to CACFP and program nutrition guidelines
• Monitor kitchen sanitation and storage procedures
• Complete required reports and documentation
• Support a positive and safe dining environment for children
• Assist with staff training and kitchen operations as needed

Qualifications• Associate’s Degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, Home Economics, or related field preferred• Two to five years of food service experience preferred, especially in childcare, school, or healthcare settings• Experience preparing large quantities of food• Serve Safe Certification required within six months of employment• Strong organizational and teamwork skills• Knowledge of child nutrition guidelines and commercial kitchen operations preferredPhysical RequirementsMust be able to stand for extended periods, operate kitchen equipment safely, lift food and kitchen supplies up to 50 pounds, and work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.Equal Opportunity EmployerUnion County Community Action, Inc.
