Job Description:
- Most of the tech stack is SQL, there are others too such as DB2, Oracle, Sybase etc.
- Proactive monitoring of capacity of databases, services, market data, quotas.
- An ideal candidate knows about query optimization, knows how to read a query plan and suggest improvements, and in general knows how to optimize code, database and configuration to get the most efficient and effective use of a database.
Responsibilities:
- Database Observability
- Implement observability using industry tools like APM Tools, Log Aggregators, Metrics Monitoring,
- Define and monitor SLA, SLOs, SLIs, and error budgets
- Database Reliability
- Performance
- Ensure availability, scalability, and performance of database systems.
- Design, build, and maintain core database infrastructure.
- Optimize data storage, retrieval, and processing to support high-throughput systems
- Incident Management
- Root Cause Analysis
- Lead incident response for database-related outages.
- Conduct blameless postmortems and drive continuous improvement
- Collaboration
- Support
- Work closely with application developers, infrastructure teams, and SREs to ensure seamless DB operations.
- Provide database expertise and support during software development lifecycle.
