Title: Mainframe z/OS Physical and Logical DB2 Database Administrator (DBA) (SKILL LEVEL 3)
Location: Albany, NY (First week of work is required to be onsite in Albany, remaining will be remote)
Duration: 1 year

Job Description:

Responsibilities include all aspects of DB2 DBA on the z/OS platform. Must have a working understanding of Structured Query Language (SQL), JCL, DB2 performance tuning, Database Definition Language (DDL) and all DB2 utilities. Ability to follow existing processes for Change, Incident, Problem, Availability, Service Level and Capacity Management. Must have working knowledge of DB2 database Backup/Recovery. Review Logical design and provide recommendations. Transform the Logical design model into a Physical design. Design and prepare application database changes (add new or change existing structure). Willingness to provide rotational 24 x 7 On Call support for production environment required.

Primary duties include:
- Incident and Problem resolution based on customer Service Level requirements.
- Execute DB Utilities (Reorg, Runstats, Copy, Load, Unload, Modify, Check, Recover, Rebuild)
- Proficiently write new and modify existing JCL
- Execute DB2 Commands (Stop, Start, Display, Cancel, etc)
- Resolve problems, document solutions, and implement changes
- DB2 Security (RACF, Grants, Revokes, Roles, Privileges)

Required:
- At least 5 years experience with DB2 z/OS, 3 years with v11/v12
- At least 5 years experience with z/OS, JCL, TSO/ISPF, and DB2 Utilities
- At least 5 years experience with executing DDL
- At least 5 years experience in Capacity / Performance management
- At least 5 years experience with DB2 Backup / Recovery
- At least 5 years experience in Apply Problem Solving Techniques
- At least 5 years experience in database monitoring
- At least 5 years experience in database maintenance and administration
- English: Fluent
- High School Diploma / GED

Preferred:
- At least 7 years experience with DB2 z/OS, 4 years with v11/v12
- At least 7 years experience with z/OS, JCL, TSO/ISPF, and DB2 Utilities
- At least 7 years experience with executing DDL
- At least 7 years experience in Capacity / Performance management
- At least 7 years experience with DB2 Backup / Recovery
- At least 7 years experience in Apply Problem Solving Techniques
- At least 7 years experience in database monitoring
- Bachelor's Degree
