Job Requirements
  • Education Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Education, Special Education, or related field
  • Certifications Requirements: Texas Educator Certification in Special Education, Deaf and Hard of Hearing endorsement or equivalent, CPR and First Aid certifications
  • Experience Requirements: Minimum of 1 year of experience working with Deaf and Hard of Hearing students, experience in a school setting, familiarity with K-12 caseload management
  • Other Requirements: Ability to pass background check, strong communication skills, adaptability and patience, proficient in American Sign Language (preferred), physically capable of managing classroom activities

Job Responsibilities
  • Provide specialized instruction and support to students with Deaf and Hard of Hearing needs to facilitate effective learning experiences.
  • Collaborate with educators, speech therapists, and families to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs).
  • Maintain accurate documentation of student progress, attendance, and behavioral data.
  • Execute classroom management strategies to promote a positive and inclusive learning environment.
