Work closely with the Dean of Scholars and the school-based team to create a consistent, focused, joyful and safe learning environment for all children.
This includes supporting all team members and scholars in rolling out consistent school-wide systems, procedures and routines.
Communicate regularly and proactively with scholars, families and staff.
Work alongside teachers to implement tiered behavioral interventions that help children further access the grade-level learning in their classrooms.
Model and support others in executing the school’s full Positive Behavioral Intervention & Supports (PBIS) system, helping ensure its consistency and efficacy across the building.
Directly support the process for scholar ‘resets’ when they need time and space outside of class to reach a calm and focused state. This includes overseeing a calm down process (if needed), reflection time, the opportunity to practice the skill that may be lacking, and supporting the restorative work needed to re-enter the classroom in a healthy state (scholar to teacher and scholar to peers).
When needed (although rarely), assist in running In School Suspensions (ISS) to ensure scholars are on a positive path to classroom re-entry.
Directly assist in the data collection and implementation of individual student behavior plans.
Assist the Dean of Scholars and school-based leadership team with data input, ensuring records are thorough and current to be used for analysis and decision making.
Collaborate with other staff members and actively participate in all professional development and learning opportunities.
Work closely with the Dean of Scholars, engaging in regular meetings, and receiving both in the moment feedback and after-the-fact feedback to drive improved practices
Support during transitions and school-wide daily activities (breakfast, lunch, recess, dismissal, etc.) to ensure school-wide culture is consistently in a healthy place and school values are being lived at all times.
Participate in additional activities including field trips, intensive academic support sessions, and other required programs as needed throughout the year.
Complete all administrative requirements before given deadlines.
Work with a multidisciplinary team (including SPED, service providers, psych, therapists) to build and maintain plans for scholars that need 504s, IEPs, etc.
Commitment to become NCI Trained to assist with scholars in crisis and utilize all physical interventions in a safe and transferable way

Experience or familiarity working with students, especially in a K-5 urban setting.
Strong track record of success in building positive staff, scholar and parent relationships.
Openness to feedback, desire to continue development as a professional, and willingness to take responsibility for scholar outcomes.
Ability to work full-time, including some evenings and weekends along with a “whatever it takes” disposition.
Ability to work in person/in the school building. This is not a remote/telecommuting role.
Minimum of a 3 years experience working in a similar role or a Bachelor’s degree.
Bilingual preferred (English/Spanish).
Starting annual salary range: $55,000-$65,000, depending on experience.
Participation in the Colorado PERA retirement program, including a PERA 401K option.
