Position Details
SUMMARY:
The Dean of Students will work with administrators and counselors supporting teachers and instructional staff in establishing, reinforcing and monitoring the academic and behavioral status of students in need of intervention.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- Master's Degree in education, curriculum, or a related discipline preferred.
- Minimum of five years successful teaching experience preferred, preferably at the secondary level.
- Knowledge of MTSS, PBIS, social-emotional learning, restorative practices, trauma-informed care, behavior intervention strategies, and relationship-based approaches that foster positive student behavior, engagement, and academic success.
- Experience working with students in small groups, incorporating technology when appropriate.
- Be able to monitor students and record progress.
- Experience working with parents, teachers and administrators.
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
- Applicants must satisfactorily pass a criminal background check as defined by the State of Michigan.
