    2026-2027 SCHOOL YEAR

    INTERIM DEAN OF STUDENTS

    ROTON MIDDLE SCHOOL

    POSITION SUMMARY

    Provide support for the overall school educational and cultural environment.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Responsible for lower level discipline referrals
    • Monitor attendance and/or interventions for under-performing students
    • Process documents and materials for the purpose of disseminating information to appropriate parties
    • Maintain proper documentation
    • Communicate and coordinate with families of students
    • Maintain respect at all times for confidential information

    REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

    • Ability to communicate ideas and directives clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing
    • Effective, active listening skills
    • Interpersonal, Restorative Practice background preferred
    • Ability to work effectively with others
    • Organizational and problem-solving skills
    • Excellent public relations skills

    OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Interact in a positive manner with staff, students and parents
    • Make contact with the public with tact and diplomacy
    • Promote good public relations by personal appearance, attitude and conversation
    • Respond to routine questions and requests in an appropriate manner
    • Maintain a level of approachability by administration and staff

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Must hold an active Connecticut Department of Education Certification
    • 092 Certification preferred, but not required
    • Masters degree
    • Middle or high school teaching experience
    • Alternative to the above qualifications as the Superintendent and/or Norwalk Board of Education may find appropriate

    Days: Monday - Friday

    Year: School Year

    Salary: In accordance with the NASA contract.
