    Job Description (General Summary)

    Intralox Metal Fabrication has a position available for an experienced Deburring/Leveling Technician in its Harahan, LA facility. This individual will be responsible for all aspects of surface finishing, edge rounding, and leveling of precision parts utilizing state of the art equipment designed for this task. This is a high volume high-precision sheet metal part fabrication facility, and this position is responsible for maintaining the highest possible quality surface and edge finishes on these parts at a pace to meet customer demands.

    Job Responsibilities and Requirements

    Responsibilities

    • Operate, monitor, adjust as needed, and maintain various machines used in IMF to post process various end products made of steel.
    • Acute attention to detail and small artifacts on products while inspecting that could cause a failure.
    • Process and maintain segregated batches of product to ensure proper Quality Control.
    • Moving product batches and carting between processing locations.
    • Keep records on issues with equipment and product output and provide timely feedback to Fabrication Manager.
    • Perform daily, weekly, monthly, and as required equipment maintenance to keep equipment in top form and like new condition.
    • Maintain all consumable material levels to ensure maximum uptime.
    • Maintaining a clean, orderly, and safe workplace.
    • Assist all other departments as required when available to maintain highest level of productivity.
    • Learn, integrate, and develop continuous improvement methodologies in association with other departments.
    • Develop operational understanding to provide backup support to all post processing operations within IMF.

    Requirements

    • High school diploma.
    • Prior experience working with deburring, leveling, and hand finishing equipment in a fabrication environment.
    • Capable of learning computer-based MES software used daily to enter order status.
    • Capable of passing Laitram Forklift and Overhead Crane Training certification, if required.
    • Ability to work a flexible work schedule and occasional overtime as needed
    • Experienced and capable of reading and using measuring tools such as tape measures and calipers, and micrometers.
    • Strong math skills and mechanical aptitude required in the operation and maintenance of various equipment to keep them in top form and like new condition.
    • Strong organizational and communication skills, and detail oriented.
    • Individual must be self-managed and excels working in a team environment.
    • Ability to perform all essential job requirements for this position, including the ability to lift and move 50 lbs as required.
    • Assist other departments and work overtime on an as required basis.

    Desired Qualifications

    • Prior experience in similar position working in a sheet metal fabrication facility, especially stainless steel.
    • Specific experience with Lissmac, TimeSaver, ARKU, or similar deburring and leveling machines.
    • More than 3 years' experience in a similar position with a high-volume fabricator.
