We are seeking a detail-oriented Temporary Deceased Accounts Operations Specialist to support our Deceased Accounts team in Colorado Springs. This department is responsible for managing and processing deceased member accounts, including account reviews, beneficiary disbursements, required notifications, account restrictions, and compliance with applicable statutory and regulatory requirements.
The primary focus of this role will be assisting with a backlog of member correspondence and required notifications. As workload demands evolve, this position may expand to support additional teams and processes, including cross-functional assistance with the Minnesota team and broader deceased account operations.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare, review, and mail required member correspondence related to deceased account processing.
Assist in reducing existing correspondence backlogs while maintaining accuracy and compliance standards.
Process daily outgoing letters and notifications as part of ongoing departmental operations.
Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive member information with professionalism and discretion.
Support account administration activities related to deceased member accounts.
Collaborate with team members in Colorado and Minnesota to ensure timely completion of operational tasks.
Follow established policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements governing deceased account processing.
Perform data entry and documentation updates across multiple systems as needed.
Provide additional operational support as responsibilities expand and training is completed.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Previous experience in administrative support, financial services, banking, insurance, or related operational environments preferred.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to manage repetitive tasks while maintaining high levels of accuracy.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and computer-based systems.
Strong written communication skills.
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
Experience working in regulated environments is a plus.
Additional Information
Initial responsibilities will be focused on back-office processing and correspondence.
Phone responsibilities are not expected initially but may be introduced as the individual gains experience with deceased account processes.
This is an onsite position based at the Colorado Springs headquarters office.

Placement: Temporary; 3 months with the possibility to extend
Schedule: Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm (1hour lunch)
Payrate: $19 to $23, depending on experience
