Diamond Truck and Trailer is seeking a high-caliber, self-sustaining Dedicated On-Site Technician to serve as the primary point of contact for our contract fleet customers. Unlike traditional roadside roles, this position is embedded directly within our clients' operations. You will be responsible for the total health of a specific fleet, ensuring maximum uptime through meticulous maintenance and proactive repair management.
Looking for 3AM - 12PM shift.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer Relationship Management: Act as the face of Diamond Truck and Trailer for contract accounts. Communicate daily with fleet managers regarding equipment status and upcoming needs.
Proactive Fleet Maintenance: Perform comprehensive on-site PM services and inspections that exceed DOT standards.
Independent Diagnostics & Repair: Own the entire repair lifecycle—from identifying electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical faults to final testing—with minimal supervision.
Detailed Documentation: Maintain rigorous records of all service work, parts usage, and inspections to ensure contract compliance and clear history for the client.
Site & Asset Stewardship: Manage on-site parts inventory and maintain a pristine, organized service vehicle and workspace at the customer’s facility.
Strategic Problem Solving: Identify recurring issues within the fleet and recommend long-term solutions to the customer to reduce their total cost of ownership.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for a professional who is detail-oriented and self-governing. If you prefer a structured environment where you manage your own day and take pride in "owning" the performance of a fleet, this is your role.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Experience: Minimum 2–3 years as a Diesel/Fleet Mechanic, specifically with Class 8 tractors and trailers.
Autonomy: Proven ability to work independently without a shop foreman or direct daily supervision.
Technical Precision: Strong knowledge of diesel engines, air brakes, and complex electrical troubleshooting.
Organization: Meticulous approach to paperwork, parts ordering, and tool maintenance.
License: Valid driver’s license with a clean record (CDL preferred).
Physicality: Ability to work in various weather conditions and lift up to 75 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications:
ASE Certifications (Medium/Heavy Truck series).
Experience in a "Resident Technician" or "Dedicated Site" role.
Strong familiarity with DOT/FMCSA compliance and audit-ready record keeping.
Compensation & Benefits
Competitive Pay: Based on experience and technical proficiency.
High-Value Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, and Disability—85% company-paid for entire family.
Stability: Consistent schedule at dedicated customer sites with annual cost-of-living increases.
Professional Support: Paid parental leave and a dedicated PPE allowance.
