Deductions Analyst

Deduction Specialist

We are seeking a detail-oriented Deduction Specialist to join a collaborative accounting team and take ownership of customer deductions, claim resolution, and accounts receivable support. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys investigating discrepancies, working across departments, and driving issues to resolution.

Key Responsibilities for the Deduction Specialist

• 
  
• Manage, research, and resolve customer deductions including shortages, overages, damages, pricing discrepancies, and fines
• 
  
• Access customer portals to submit claims and maintain supporting documentation
• 
  
• Communicate with customers, brokers, and internal teams to resolve outstanding issues
• 
  
• Lead meetings to review deduction status and determine next steps
• 
  
• Prepare reports and provide updates on deduction activity and recovery progress
• 
  
• Track paybacks, credits, and write-offs
• 
  
• Identify opportunities to improve deduction workflows and processes
• 
  
• Support accounting activities including A/R and A/P as needed
• 
  

Qualifications for the Deduction Specialist

Required:

• 
  
• Experience managing customer deductions and dispute resolution
• 
  
• Understanding of common deduction types and claim processes
• 
  
• Strong analytical and organizational skills
• 
  
• Excellent follow-up and communication abilities
• 
  
• Intermediate Excel skills
• 
  

Preferred:

• 
  
• Microsoft Dynamics 365 experience
• 
  
• Accounts Receivable or Accounts Payable experience
• 
  
• Experience working with customer portals and claims management
