Precision Manufacturing | Metal Forming | Eyelet Press Operations

Cadence is seeking an experienced Deep Draw Toolmaker at the Watertown, CT facility to support high-precision metal forming operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role plays a critical part in building, maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing deep draw die tooling used in eyelet press operations.

The ideal candidate brings strong hands-on toolmaking expertise, precision machining skills, and a proactive approach to problem solving and continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up tooling in eyelet machines and verify that produced parts meet all required specifications throughout the entire manufacturing run
  • Produce, repair, and maintain tooling for eyelet machines using a variety of toolroom machines and hand tools
  • Support press setup and production teams during tool launches, troubleshooting, and program transfers
  • Modify and improve tooling designs to enhance part quality, manufacturing efficiency, and tool life
  • Perform preventative maintenance on tooling components
  • Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T requirements, and tooling blueprints
  • Maintain toolroom equipment and follow safe working practices at all times

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of deep draw die toolmaking experience required
  • Strong experience supporting eyelet press machining operations
  • Proficiency with toolroom equipment, including manual lathes, Bridgeport milling machines, and manual surface grinders
  • Strong understanding of deep draw forming principles and metal flow behavior
  • Solid knowledge of measurement methods, precision inspection tools, and quality practices
  • Ability to troubleshoot dimensional and cosmetic part defects
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Lassy, Waterbury Farrell, or Baird eyelet machines
  • Journeyman Eyelet Toolmaker certification
  • Experience working with stainless steel and thin-gauge materials
