Job Details
Job Duties
Provide comprehensive litigation support to attorneys handling insurance defense matters from case inception through resolution, including appeals when needed.
Draft, proofread, and finalize pleadings, discovery, subpoenas, motions, correspondence, and other litigation-related documents.
Conduct legal research utilizing Westlaw, LexisNexis, and other legal resources to assist with case development and motion practice.
Coordinate depositions, mediations, hearings, arbitrations, and trial preparation, including organizing exhibits, witness materials, and case files.
Review and analyze medical records, claim documentation, and other evidence while preparing chronologies, summaries, and litigation support materials.
Prepare and electronically file legal documents in state and federal courts, ensuring compliance with procedural rules and filing deadlines.
Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, expert witnesses, court personnel, and other parties regarding case activity, scheduling, and document coordination.
Maintain accurate case files, calendars, and litigation databases while tracking deadlines and ensuring timely completion of assignments.
Job Qualifications
Minimum of 3 years of insurance defense litigation paralegal experience.
Maintain 1600 billable hours annually.
Paralegal Certificate or Associate's Degree from an ABA-approved paralegal program is preferred.
Experience with iManage, PerfectLaw, CaseFleet, TrialDirector, supporting multiple attorneys, and reviewing medical records is a plus.
