    WHAT YOU WILL ACHIEVE

    Secondment opportunity will provide hands-on experience with our DSSE (Degradation Sciences and Structural Elucidation) Separation Sciences team within ARD (Analytical Research and Development) tasked with purifying and characterizing a wide range of compounds, from traditional small molecules to novel biotherapeutics. The team is dedicated to leveraging automation, instrumentation, and software technologies to continuously enhance our separations platforms and you will work alongside experts in an interdisciplinary environment. The colleague will be a leader in our Separations team responsible for delivering compound purification and driving the development of innovative, robust, and efficient purification processes and technologies essential for the advancement of our diverse and extensive drug portfolio.

    HOW YOU WILL ACHIEVE IT

    • Designing, implementing and operating within a purification workflow and purification team, responsible for laboratory research, planning, prioritizing projects, workload and serving as a scientific and technical expert.

    • Collaborating closely with synthetic chemists and separation scientists to develop and deliver automated purification platforms and strategies while driving advancements in analytical and separation technologies to include custom separation and analytical methods to address analytical challenges across various disease areas and modalities.

    • Establishing and leading innovation projects aimed at enhancing purification and analytical technologies as well as optimizing workflows and process efficiencies.

    • Applying a diverse range of analytical and preparative chromatographic instruments and technologies including HPLC-MS, SFC-MS, NP-HPLC, MCSGP and flash chromatography

    • Using additional analytical methods and automation technologies to augment analytical and separations capabilities and overall efficiency.

    • Using a wide range of software supporting chromatographic processes including data analysis and process automation.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Must-Have

    • Applicant must have a bachelor's degree with at least 12+ years of experience.

    • Expertise in modern chromatographic technologies with a strong background in preparative scale-up activity for both small and large molecules.

    • Demonstrated experience with software and hardware automation of purification processes.

    • Established scientific reputation in separation sciences.


      Nice-to-Have

    • Master's degree with at least 9+ years of experience; OR a PhD with 4+ years of experience; OR a MD with 0+ years of experience.

    PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

    • Ability to perform calculations and data analysis is required. 

    • This role requires the use of laboratory equipment and working in laboratories. Some lifting may be required.
