Benefits:About the Role:Knickerbockers Deli is looking for an energetic and customer-focused Deli Cashier/Prep/Barista to join our team in Salt Lake City, UT!
The Deli is open Monday thru Friday for breakfast and lunch, 8:30 AM to 2 PM. We are looking for someone from 7:30 AM to around 2:15 PM, Monday thru Friday, closed most major holidays.
Base hourly pay beginning at $13.00 also includes tips. Average tips (NON-TAXED) averages around $5 per hour worked, on top of hourly wage.
This multi-faceted role puts you at the heart of our operation — crafting beverages, prepping fresh food, and delivering a great experience to every guest who walks through our doors.
Responsibilities:- Greet and assist customers at the counter, providing friendly and efficient cashier service
- Accurately process cash, credit, and digital transactions at the point of sale
- Prepare and craft espresso drinks, coffee beverages, and other barista specialties to order
- Assist with deli food prep including slicing, portioning, assembling, and packaging items
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the deli counter, prep area, and barista station
- Follow food safety and sanitation standards at all times
- Restock supplies, ingredients, and display cases as needed throughout the shift
Requirements:- Previous experience in a deli, café, food service, or retail cashier role preferred
- Barista or espresso bar experience is a plus
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Basic math skills and comfort handling cash transactions
- Food handler's permit or willingness to obtain one upon hire
- Reliable, punctual, and a team-oriented attitude
