The Deli Manager is a dynamic leader responsible for overseeing all aspects of deli operations, ensuring exceptional food quality, customer satisfaction, and profitability. This role requires a strong understanding of food services, restaurant management, and sales, coupled with excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities. The Deli Manager is expected to foster a positive work environment through effective coaching, training and development, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and food safety.
Responsibilities:
Oversee daily deli operations, including food preparation, service, and customer interactions.
Manage and motivate a team of deli staff, providing coaching and training to enhance performance.
Implement and maintain food safety and sanitation protocols, ensuring compliance with all regulations.
Manage inventory, including ordering, receiving, and stocking, to minimize waste and maximize profitability.
Develop and implement strategies to increase sales and improve customer service.
Monitor and analyze financial performance, including profit and loss (P&L) management, to achieve budgetary goals.
Create and manage employee schedules, ensuring adequate staffing levels to meet customer demand.
Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to strict cleanliness standards.
Address and resolve customer complaints promptly and professionally, demonstrating excellent customer service.
Collaborate with the management team on marketing initiatives to promote deli offerings.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
3-5 years of experience in restaurant management or food services, with a focus on deli operations.
Thorough knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
Working knowledge of inventory management and ordering procedures.
Demonstrated leadership and management skills, including the ability to coach and train employees.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
General knowledge of computer literacy, including point-of-sale (POS) systems.
Valid Driver's License.
Preferred Qualifications:
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management or a related field.
Experience with profit and loss (P&L) management.
Experience with marketing and promotional activities.
ServSafe certification.
