Job Summary:
Well established, family owned lumber yard in Lockport, NY is hiring for delivery driver positions. This will be a 5 day work week, 46 hours each week. Duties include delivering building materials locally and assisting in the yard. Delivery drivers are expected to maintain a positive representation of Newfane Lumber Company, both on the road and off. The main task of a delivery driver is to provide timely and safe delivery of customers’ orders and unloading material at the jobsite.They should also provide an outstanding customer service experience consistent with company values.
Their job will include, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:
- Inspect the vehicle before starting that day’s deliveries to ensure the vehicle is in proper working condition.
- Load products into the vehicle according to company specifications. Strap material accordingly.
- Check each load for accuracy prior to leaving the yard.
- Unload products according to customer specifications and review orders with customers to ensure it is correct.
- Assist with other tasks in the yard as needed.
- Yardman duties when not on deliveries. Load customers vehicles, put away inventory and maintain a tidy yard.
- Adhere to all store policies and safety standards.
- Applicants will also be stocking lumber bins, loading customer orders as they come out to the yard with an Invoice and loading our trucks for delivery. Must be able to work outside year-round. Drivers must have a CDL class B license., experience preferred. Must be 21 years old. Applicants must be able to provide prompt, courteous customer service.

- Organized, self-starter who thinks independently and solves problems.
- Strong math, reading, writing, and communication skills.
- Ability to lift up to 80 lbs.
- Clean driving record.
