American Welding & Gas is seeking a dynamic Delivery Driver / Counter Sales at our Helena, MT branch. This position involves driving and delivering plus responsibilities for helping customers purchase and order products focusing on gases and welding/industrial supplies.
Driver Duties:
- Provide cylinder and bulk deliveries, loading/unloading trucks.
- Perform vehicle inspections and maintain cleanliness.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations (Hazmat, OSHA, DOT).
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and paperwork.
- Occasionally perform overnight trips.
Counter Sales Duties:
- Assist walk-in customers with their needs and provide product information.
- Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently.
- Manage inventory levels and restock shelves as necessary.
- Maintain a clean and organized sales counter area.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing customer inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
- Assist in the preparation of quotes and orders for customers.
- Ensure all sales and customer interactions are conducted in a professional manner.
Qualifications:
Delivery Driver:
- CDL Class B with Hazmat & Tanker endorsements.
- Clean driving record (3+ years).
- Ability to lift 75-100 pounds.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Counter Sales:
- Ability to read and write English.
- Ability to move compressed gas and liquid cylinders; lift 50-75 pounds frequently and maneuver 100+ pound cylinders (rolling, using a cart, etc.).
- Successful completion of pre-employment drug screen, DOT physical, Back Assessment, and company-administered road test.
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers.
- Experience in sales or customer service is a plus.
