Position Overview
Stand-By Personnel is seeking a reliable Delivery Driver / Material Handler to join a construction supply and warehouse operation in Edmond. This position combines local delivery driving with hands-on warehouse and material-handling responsibilities.
The ideal candidate has previous delivery or warehouse experience, is comfortable handling construction materials, and can safely load, secure, transport, and unload materials at customer and job sites. Flatbed driving experience is strongly preferred.
Required Experience & Skills
Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record required
Previous delivery driving and material-handling experience preferred
Flatbed driving experience strongly preferred
Ability to safely load, secure, transport, and unload materials
Comfortable performing heavy material handling throughout the workday
Strong organizational skills and attention to order accuracy
Ability to work independently and manage assigned deliveries
Professional communication and customer service skills
Dependable attendance and punctuality
Strong commitment to safe driving and material-handling procedures
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Safely operate company vehicles for local deliveries
Deliver construction materials, supplies, and equipment to customers and job sites
Pick and prepare customer orders according to order requirements
Load company vehicles accurately and safely before departure
Properly secure materials for transportation
Unload materials safely at customer and construction locations
Verify products and quantities before completing deliveries
Organize materials throughout the warehouse and loading areas
Track incoming and outgoing materials
Assist with stocking and general warehouse operations
Perform basic vehicle and equipment safety inspections
Maintain clean and organized delivery vehicles and work areas
Communicate professionally with customers, supervisors, and warehouse personnel
Follow all company driving, warehouse, and workplace safety procedures
Perform additional delivery and material-handling duties as assigned
Materials & Products
Drivers may transport and handle construction materials including:
Rebar
Forming lumber
Construction site supplies
Equipment
Building and job-site materials
Other warehouse products and customer orders
Preferred Qualifications
Flatbed delivery driving experience
Construction supply or building-material experience
Warehouse or distribution experience
Previous local route delivery experience
Experience securing loads for transportation
Material-handling and order-pulling experience
Customer-facing delivery experience
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift, carry, load, and unload heavy materials throughout the workday
Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling
Ability to safely enter and exit company vehicles throughout delivery routes
Comfortable handling lumber, rebar, equipment, and construction supplies
Ability to perform physically demanding delivery and warehouse work throughout the shift
Work Environment
Combination of warehouse operations, local driving, and construction job-site deliveries
Regular loading and unloading of construction materials and supplies
Work may be performed indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
Frequent interaction with customers, contractors, job-site personnel, and warehouse employees
Safety-focused environment requiring proper load securement and material-handling practices
