Delivery Driver

Overview CORT Furniture Rental is hiring immediately for full-time non-CDL drivers in Wallingford, CT. The Delivery Driver works collaboratively as part of the Operations team. You will be responsible for loading furniture and delivering safely to customers homes or office spaces. You will also be assembling furniture for the customer and going above and beyond to ensure a positive customer experience.

Pay

• Hourly pay rate: $21.00 per hour
• Schedule: Standard is Monday-Friday, 7:30am-4pm, with some flexibility or overtime may be required

Responsibilities Start your day at our warehouse where youll meet to review your route, safety topics, and more with the operations team. Drive a 26-foot box truck with a lift gate to customers homes or offices. Unload, deliver, and install furniture while interacting with customers. Assist in the warehouse as needed, which may require loading and unloading furniture.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• 21 years of age or older
• Valid and current drivers license in the state of residency
• A minimum of 3 months professional experience driving a 24-foot box truck or larger commercial vehicle (1 year of experience preferred)
• Physically able and willing to move furniture indoors, outdoors, up or down stairs, and in all weather conditions, with the ability to lift 100 pounds with a partner
• Ability to comply with Federal Motor Carriers Safety Administration regulations
• Ability to read and speak the English language sufficiently to converse with the general public, understand highway traffic signs and signals, and make entries on reports and records
• Ability to maintain a valid DOT Medical Evaluator Certificate, which includes passing a physical and drug screening
• Ability to successfully pass a road test based on FMCSA requirements
• Acceptable MVR per CORTs Safe Driving Standards
