ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:- Loads and unloads trucks.
- Places and rotates items in inventory.
- Participates in site inventory every other month.
- Receives, unpacks, checks and stores inventory and materials.
- Fills requisitions and orders.
- Packs and prepares products and materials for shipping.
- Perform all duties in conformance to appropriate safety and security standards.
- Ensure compliance with all Federal, State and Local ordinances affecting this position.
- Ensure compliance with all Company policies and programs.
- Maintain valid driver’s license and forklift certification to perform responsibilities.
- Ensure timely processing of system information and proper documentation concerning inventory transactions (shipments, transfers, receipts, changes in cost/price, etc.).
- Clean work area and equipment regularly by removing empty pallets, woods, and plastic.
- Assist Warehouse Manager and/or Dispatch Manager with special projects as needed.
- Make local deliveries using company van/pick-up truck when required.
- Flexibility to make deliveries some days and work in the warehouse some days.
- Spring / Summer will be more driving for deliveries.
- Fall and Winter more time spent in the Warehouse.
EDUCATION:- Minimum High School Degree or GED equivalent preferred.
WORK EXPERIENCE:- One to two years of previous warehouse experience.
- Prefer prior forklift certification and/or one to two years of forklift experience.
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS:- Must have current and valid driver’s license.
- Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification.
- Hoisting Engineer License – with HE-1C-Telescoping Booms w/o Cables preferred, or willing to obtain.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:- Prolonged sitting and driving a forklift - must be able to climb, sit, hear (other forklift in motion), grasp, and steer a vehicle in motion.
- Far and near visual acuity – must be able to see to drive forklift.
- Load and unload trucks – must be able to lift minimum of 80 pounds regularly in order to load and unload products.
- Mobility inside the warehouse – must be able to stand for extended periods of time, walk, reach, bend, pull, and grasp.
- Communication – must be able to talk, hear, see, and comprehend.
- Ability to load, unload and drive a high roof transit van.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:- Must be self-motivated and can work independently.
- Ability to follow directions and strong willingness to learn.
WORKING CONDITIONS:- Work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
- Work is routinely performed in a general warehouse environment on a concrete surface, with frequent exposure to both internal and external environment.
- Frequent exposure to severe weather conditions, both heat and cold.
- Frequent exposure to dust, and noise levels that exceed a normal threshold.
PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT:- Must wear steel-toed boots.
- Recommended (area specific): Safety glasses, ear plugs, gloves, back brace, and safety suit. Will be provided by Harrell’s upon request.
- Personal Protective Equipment must be worn in accordance with SDS recommendations.
