The Delivery Manager is responsible for the final, critical stage of the automotive parts supply chain - ensuring products are delivered safely, efficiently, and on time. This role oversees outbound logistics and fleet operations, including strategic dispatching, compliance, vehicle lifecycle management, performance metrics, and asset protection, while championing a strong “Safety First” culture.

As the bridge between the warehouse and the customer, the Delivery Manager drives continuous improvement through data, route optimization, and effective use of the Warehouse Management System (WMS), while developing a high-performing delivery team committed to operational excellence and exceptional service.

KEY OUTCOMES:

Outbound Operations

  • Strategic Dispatching: Direct all delivery operations, including driver assignments, route optimization, customer return pick-ups, weather/road condition adjustments, and real-time issue resolution.
  • Performance Analytics: Monitor and report key performance indicators (KPIs), including on-time delivery (OTD), order accuracy, and freight cost efficiency.
  • Asset Protection: Ensure accuracy and accountability of outbound inventory to safeguard company assets.
  • Systems Administration: Utilize the WMS to process orders, troubleshoot system issues, and generate actionable delivery and inventory reports.
  • Route Optimization: Continuously evaluate delivery schedules and route assignments to maximize efficiency and resource utilization.

Safety, Compliance & Quality

  • Driver Compliance: Maintain Driver Qualification (DQ) files and ensure full compliance with DOT regulations and company safety standards.
  • Risk Management: Proactively identify and address safety risks; lead safety reporting and conduct facility and vehicle inspections.
  • Service Resolution: Serve as the primary contact for resolving internal and external customer concerns related to deliveries and driver performance.

Fleet Management

  • Fleet Integrity: Oversee the vehicle maintenance program, including daily pre- and post-trip inspections and fleet cleanliness standards.
  • Maintenance Coordination: Ensure fleet readiness by coordinating repairs and preventive maintenance with minimal service disruption.
  • Fleet Planning: Collaborate with the Parts Distribution Manager on long-term vehicle replacement and lifecycle planning.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Talent Development: Drive warehouse performance through strategic hiring, structured onboarding, continuous training, and ongoing professional development.
  • Performance Management: Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide coaching to ensure alignment with departmental goals and performance standards.
  • Administrative Oversight: Manage departmental labor resources, including scheduling, timekeeping, leave administration, and resolution of employee concerns.

Strategic Improvement & Collaboration

  • Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement process enhancements to improve productivity and reduce delivery cycle times.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with SPC departments to resolve operational challenges and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Minimum three years of experience in warehouse or distribution operations, or demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record
  • Auto parts warehouse experience preferred
