The Delivery Technician plays a critical role in ensuring the accurate, timely, and safe delivery of products and equipment to customers across various locations. This position requires a strong focus on customer service, technical knowledge, and logistical coordination to guarantee that deliveries meet quality standards and customer expectations. The Delivery Technician is responsible for handling, installing, and demonstrating products as needed, ensuring that customers are satisfied with their purchase and understand its operation. This role demands adherence to safety protocols and efficient route planning to optimize delivery schedules and reduce downtime. Ultimately, the Delivery Technician serves as a key representative of the company, fostering positive customer relationships and supporting operational success through reliable service execution.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to lift and carry heavy items up to 75 pounds safely.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail required.
• Ability to follow directions and communicate professionally with patients, referral sources, vendors, and healthcare team members.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience in delivery, logistics, or a related technical field.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to operate delivery vehicles and equipment.
• Experience with product installation or technical demonstrations.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends or overtime as needed.

Responsibilities:

• Knowledgeable of and adheres to all applicable AMS policies, procedures, patient protocols, and company standards.
• Maintains compliance with government regulations, including OSHA, FDA, DOT, and professional standards.
• Conducts him/herself as a professional representative of AMS.
• Oversees daily warehouse operations, including maintaining clean and dirty equipment areas, inventory organization, and warehouse cleanliness.
• Ensures all equipment delivered to patients is properly cleaned, tested, operable, tagged, and in quality condition.
• Delivers patient equipment as prescribed by the physician in a timely and professional manner.
• Educates patients and caregivers on the proper use, safety, maintenance, and cleaning of equipment in the home setting.
• Maintains and documents patient equipment information and plan of care according to AMS policies and procedures.
• Performs equipment set-ups, preventative maintenance, service checks, functional checks, and patient/environmental assessments.
• Assists in determining whether equipment repairs should be completed in the home or at the warehouse.
• Maintains service and repair records on serialized equipment and keeps equipment tracking logs updated.
• Cleans, disinfects, and processes returned equipment according to infection control and AMS policies.
• Maintains adequate warehouse inventory levels and assists with ordering supplies, equipment, and specialized parts as needed.
• Oversees the quantity and condition of received shipments, processes defective returns, and ensures proper credits are obtained.
• Maintains shelves, breaks down boxes, disposes of trash, and completes general warehouse and facility maintenance duties.
• Develops technical knowledge of AMS products and services and provides assistance and information to staff, patients, and referral sources when requested.
• Maintains awareness of workplace safety practices, proper body mechanics, and infection control procedures while using required PPE and safety equipment.
• Serves as a liaison between patients and the healthcare team regarding equipment concerns, repairs, and service needs.
• Must be available for scheduled shifts including day, evening, weekend, and on-call rotations as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Must successfully complete criminal background screening and SAM/OIG exclusion checks.
• Must complete pre-employment drug screening, physical examination, and TB testing.
• Must obtain flu vaccination and any additional vaccinations required by Advanced Medical Solutions for patient safety.

The Delivery Technician utilizes strong organizational and time management skills daily to plan efficient delivery routes and meet tight schedules. Effective communication skills are essential for interacting with customers, dispatchers, and team members to ensure smooth delivery operations and resolve any issues promptly. Mechanical aptitude and technical skills are applied when inspecting products, performing installations, or troubleshooting minor equipment issues on-site. Physical stamina and safety awareness are critical for handling heavy items and operating delivery vehicles in compliance with safety regulations.
