    JOB VACANCY: Elementary Teacher

    LOCATION: Delta Elementary School 7661 Mer Rouge-Collinston Road Collinston, Louisiana 71229

    SUBJECT AREA: English Language Arts (ELA)

    GRADE LEVEL(S): 5th Grade

    POSITION OVERVIEW

    Delta Elementary School is seeking a highly effective, student-centered educator to serve as a 5th Grade English Language Arts (ELA) Teacher. The successful candidate will provide rigorous, standards-based literacy instruction designed to develop students'' reading, writing, speaking, listening, language, and critical thinking skills.

    The 5th Grade ELA Teacher will implement Louisiana Student Standards and district-adopted High-Quality Instructional Materials (HQIM) while creating a learning environment that promotes literacy growth, academic excellence, student engagement, and college and career readiness.

    EMPLOYMENT DETAILS

    Employment Type: Full-Time 9-Month Contract

    Salary: In accordance with the MPSD Teacher Pay Scale and applicable state guidelines

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Plan and deliver engaging, standards-aligned instruction using district-adopted High-

    Quality Instructional Materials (HQIM) for English Language Arts.

    • Implement Louisiana Student Standards for English Language Arts.
    • Provide explicit instruction in reading comprehension, vocabulary, writing, grammar, speaking, listening, and language development.
    • Utilize evidence-based literacy practices consistent with Louisiana literacy initiatives.
    • Differentiate instruction to address the diverse academic needs of all learners.
    • Analyze assessment data to guide instruction and improve student achievement.
    • Develop and maintain a positive classroom climate.
    • Implement PBIS expectations.
    • Collaborate with colleagues and support staff.
    • Participate in PLCs and professional development.
    • Maintain accurate records and documentation.
    • Integrate instructional technology.
    • Communicate regularly with parents and guardians.
    • Build positive relationships with stakeholders.
    • Maintain confidentiality in accordance with FERPA.
    • Maintain a professional growth plan.
    • Perform other duties as assigned

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    • Bachelor''s Degree from an accredited college or university.• Valid Louisiana Teaching • • • • Certificate or eligibility through an approved pathway.
    • Knowledge of Louisiana Student Standards and elementary instructional practices.
    • Knowledge of child development.
    • Classroom management and organizational skills.
    • Ability to analyze student data.
    • Technology proficiency.
    • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
    • Commitment to professional growth.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Master's Degree in Education, Literacy, Curriculum and Instruction, or related field.
    • One or more years of successful teaching experience.
    • Experience teaching upper elementary ELA.
    • Knowledge of HQIM.
    • Experience with literacy interventions, MTSS, and RTI.
    • Experience in a Title I school environment
