JOB VACANCY: Math Collaboration Teacher

POSITION OVERVIEW

Delta Elementary School, a Title I school, is seeking a highly skilled educator to serve as the Math Collaboration Teacher. This role focuses on accelerating student achievement in mathematics through structured professional learning aligned to High-Quality Instructional Materials (HQIM), the LDOE High-Quality Professional Learning (HQPL) Cycle, and the Louisiana Professional Learning Roadmap.

To accelerate student math achievement by facilitating high-impact teacher collaboration aligned to HQIM, the LDOE HQPL Cycle, and the Louisiana Professional Learning Roadmap.

EMPLOYMENT DETAILS

Employment Type: Full-Time 9-Month Contract (Grant Funded)

Salary: In accordance with the MPSD Teacher Pay Scale and applicable state guidelines

REPORTS TO: Curriculum Supervisor; Director of Federal Programs; Principal

EVALUATED BY: Curriculum Supervisor and/or Principal

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Facilitate weekly Teacher Collaboration (TC) meetings across grade levels at the school using LDOE-approved math-focused frameworks and protocols.

  2. Lead teacher teams through the High-Quality Professional Learning (HQPL) Cycle by setting measurable cycle goals, identifying targeted learning opportunities, and monitoring progress toward those goals.

3.Ensure protected and adequate development time for teachers to prepare HQIM lessons, analyze data, and refine instructional approaches.

  1. Support HQIM lesson internalization that ensures alignment with Louisiana Student Standards for Mathematics, emphasizing conceptual understanding, procedural fluency, and real-world application.

  2. Guide educators in using formative and summative assessment data to identify gaps, adjust instruction, and measure the impact of professional learning cycles.

  3. Provide differentiated, job-embedded coaching and modeling of effective math instruction across all grade levels.

  4. Collaborate with school and district leaders to integrate TC into the master schedule and ensure it is prioritized and sustained.

  5. Promote cross-grade and cross-content collaboration to support numeracy development schoolwide.

  6. Participate in required LDOE-led professional development, calibration sessions, and statewide collaboration networks.

  7. Maintain documentation of cycle goals, meeting notes, and teacher progress for LEA and LDOE reporting.

  8. Conduct informal classroom observations and provide feedback to teachers to improve literacy instruction and student engagement.

  9. Collaborate with administrators and instructional staff to develop and implement school literacy goals and action plans.

  10. Assist in the selection, review, and recommendation of literacy instructional materials and supplemental resources.

  11. Maintain a schedule and log of activities reflecting time spent coaching, modeling lessons, providing interventions, and collaborating with teachers.

  12. Communicate with parents and families regarding literacy initiatives and student progress when appropriate.

  13. Prepare a professional growth plan.

  14. Perform other duties as assigned by the appropriate authority.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Valid Louisiana teaching certificate; meets LDOE and BESE certification requirements; knowledge of math instruction and assessment; strong communication and collaboration skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience with PLCs or teacher collaboration; knowledge of HQIM and HQPL; instructional coaching experience; Title I experience preferred.
