Covenant Aviation Security (CAS) is seeking an Operations Manager to support aviation security operations at Denver International Airport (DEN). Reporting to the Assistant Director, this position is responsible for administering the day-to-day security operation, ensuring contract compliance, operational readiness, workforce performance, and regulatory compliance across all assigned posts. The Operations Manager provides leadership to supervisory staff, partners closely with Airport and TSA stakeholders, and ensures all security operations are conducted in accordance with TSA regulations, airport requirements, and Covenant Aviation Security policies and procedures.
This position supports a 24/7 airport operation and is expected to work a combination of swing shifts and overnight shifts, including weekends and holidays. Specific schedules are assigned based on operational needs and are subject to change.

Covenant Aviation Security offers a competitive compensation package, with a targeted compensation of $78,000 annually depending on qualifications, experience, and contract requirements.

Essential Functions
- Administer all phases of the aviation security operation at Denver International Airport as directed by the Assistant Director.
- Provide leadership and operational oversight for security operations, ensuring all assigned posts remain fully staffed, compliant, and operational throughout the shift.
- Ensure all assigned posts are staffed, operationally compliant, and meeting contractual performance standards.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of the operational requirements of every post covered under the DEN contract.
- Monitor daily security operations to ensure compliance with TSA regulations, airport requirements, company policies, and contractual obligations.
- Analyze staffing levels, scheduling, overtime, and workforce deployment to maximize operational efficiency.
- Evaluate employee and supervisor performance and provide coaching, corrective action, and performance documentation as appropriate.
- Assist with recruiting, onboarding, badging, scheduling, training coordination, and employee development initiatives.
- Respond to operational incidents, employee concerns, customer service issues, and emergency situations while exercising sound judgment.
- Prepare reports, maintain operational documentation, and communicate trends, deficiencies, and recommendations to senior leadership.
- Assist in developing departmental budgets and monitoring operational expenditures.
- Build and maintain productive working relationships with TSA, DEN Airport Operations, Airport Security, airline representatives, law enforcement, regulatory agencies, labor representatives, and other stakeholders.
- Support audits, inspections, and quality assurance initiatives while ensuring corrective actions are completed promptly.
- Promote a culture of safety, accountability, professionalism, and exceptional customer service.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, or Lawful Permanent Resident.
- Possess a valid Driver's License.
- Must obtain and maintain all required airport badges, clearances, and credentials.
- Possess or obtain a valid Denver Security Guard License.
- Bachelor's Degree in Aviation Management, Security Management, Business Administration, or a closely related field.
- Five (5) years of aviation/security management experience may substitute for a bachelor's degree.
- Minimum three (3) years of experience in aviation security, airport operations, security management, or a closely related field.
- Minimum one (1) year of experience at a Part 1542 regulated airport.
- Must be available to work a flexible/non-traditional schedule, including evenings, swing shifts, overnight shifts, weekends, holidays, and extended hours as operational needs require.
- Thorough understanding of airport security operations and the operational requirements of aviation security posts.
- Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English.
- Must successfully pass all required background investigations.
- Must present a professional appearance and demeanor at all times.

Physical Demands
- May be required to climb inside and bend under vehicles for vehicle inspections (example, construction dump trucks, etc.).
- Physically, mentally, and emotionally capable of performing all duties required for their assigned post/duties.
- Capable of performing normal or emergency duties requiring moderate to arduous physical exertion, such as standing or walking/ patrolling for entire shift(s), climbing stairs, running and self-defense.
- Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout airport facilities for extended periods.
- Frequently required to climb stairs and travel between terminals, checkpoints, offices, and operational locations.
- Occasionally lift and carry up to 25 pounds.

Work Environment
Work is performed in both office and airport operational environments. The Operations Manager routinely works throughout Denver International Airport, including terminals, security checkpoints indoors & outdoors, perimeter gates, administrative offices, and other secured or restricted locations. The position requires interaction with employees, airport personnel, TSA representatives, law enforcement agencies, airline partners, and the traveling public. Work may include exposure to varying weather conditions while traveling between airport facilities and may require evening, overnight, weekend, holiday, or emergency response coverage based on operational needs. This position primarily works overnight hours (typically 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM) and may require weekends, holidays, and extended hours during operational disruptions, emergencies, or special events.
