Akron Smile is seeking a skilled and dependable Dental Assistant with at least one year of experience to join our team. This role is ideal for a motivated professional who is comfortable working chairside, values efficiency, and is committed to delivering high-quality patient care in a team-oriented environment.
Schedule
Mon, Tues, Thursday, Friday (full time) or Mon, Tues, Thurs (part-time)
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the dentist chairside during a variety of procedures
- Prepare and sterilize instruments and operatories in accordance with infection control protocols
- Take digital radiographs (X-rays) and intraoral images
- Record and update patient medical histories and clinical notes accurately
- Ensure patient comfort before, during, and after procedures
- Provide patient education on oral hygiene, treatment plans, and post-operative care
- Maintain operatory cleanliness and organization
- Manage inventory and restock supplies as needed
- Support front office duties as needed, including scheduling and patient communication
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Minimum of 1 year of dental assisting experience required
- X-ray certification (or ability to obtain per state requirements)
- Current CPR/BLS certification required
- EFDA certification preferred (if applicable)
- Strong clinical and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Positive attitude and team-oriented mindset
