    Dental Assistant / Orthodontic Records Technician

    Position Overview

    We are seeking a motivated, dependable, and patient-focused Dental Assistant / Orthodontic Records Technician to join our team. This position will work approximately four days per week, with two days dedicated to dental assisting and two days supporting the orthodontic team as a Records Technician.

    The ideal candidate is organized, personable, eager to learn, and comfortable working in a fast-paced dental environment. Dental assisting certification is required; however, prior dental experience is not required. We are willing to train the right candidate.

    Schedule & Responsibilities

    Dental Assistant - 2 Days Per Week

    • Assist the dentist during patient examinations and treatment.
    • Prepare treatment rooms and maintain a clean, organized clinical environment.
    • Seat and assist patients throughout their appointments.
    • Set up and break down treatment areas according to office protocols.
    • Maintain and prepare dental instruments and supplies.
    • Follow infection control and sterilization procedures.
    • Provide a positive, welcoming experience for patients.
    • Assist with other clinical duties as needed.

    Orthodontic Records Technician - 2 Days Per Week

    • Take and maintain orthodontic patient records.
    • Assist with orthodontic photographs, scans, X-rays, and other diagnostic records as trained.
    • Ensure patient records are accurate, complete, and properly documented.
    • Prepare records for orthodontic consultations and treatment planning.
    • Communicate professionally with patients and the orthodontic team.
    • Maintain organization and confidentiality of patient information.
    • Assist with other orthodontic administrative or clinical tasks as needed.

    Qualifications

    • Dental assisting certification is required.
    • No prior dental or orthodontic experience required - we are willing to train the right candidate.
    • Friendly, professional, and compassionate demeanor.
    • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
    • Ability to learn new procedures, technology, and office systems.
    • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
    • Dependable, punctual, and willing to contribute to a team-oriented environment.
    • Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and follow office policies and procedures.

    Work Environment

    • Primarily works in a dental treatment area and orthodontic clinical setting.
    • Must be comfortable standing, moving around, and assisting patients for extended periods.
    • High-energy, fast-paced environment with frequent interaction with patients, dentists, orthodontists, and other dental professionals.
    • Requires the ability to transition between clinical assisting and orthodontic records responsibilities throughout the workweek.
