Dental Assistant

The Dental Assistant supports the dentist in delivering high-quality patient care by assisting with clinical procedures, preparing treatment rooms, maintaining sterilization standards, and ensuring accurate patient documentation. This position requires proficiency in four-handed dentistry, dental radiography, infection control, and the use of electronic dental records. The Dental Assistant must demonstrate professionalism, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with patients, staff, and students.

• Assist the dentist during examinations and dental procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques.
• Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials before and after patient appointments.
• Perform dental radiographs in accordance with Florida Dental Radiology Certification requirements.
• Sterilize dental instruments and maintain equipment following OSHA, infection control, and sterilization guidelines.
• Maintain accurate patient records and enter clinical documentation into EagleSoft Electronic Oral Health Records.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care as directed by the dentist.
• Ensure proper operatory setup, instrument organization, and inventory management.
• Utilize dental equipment, including autoclaves, radiographic equipment, and other dental instruments.
• Support clerical and administrative duties, including scheduling, documentation, and patient record management as needed.
