Job Summary

We're seeking a skilled and patient-focused Dental Assistant to support our dentists in delivering high-quality care. In this role, you'll prepare patients and treatment areas, assist during a variety of dental procedures, maintain a safe and organized clinical environment, and help ensure an exceptional patient experience.

Key Responsibilities
-Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and equipment for patient care in accordance with infection prevention and safety standards.
-Welcome and escort patients to treatment areas, helping them feel comfortable and prepared for their visit.
-Assist dentists during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques.
-Take dental radiographs (X-rays) and process diagnostic images.
-Take alginate impressions, pour dental models, and fabricate bleaching trays and other laboratory materials.
-Remove temporary cement and re-cement crowns as directed.
-Provide patients with bleaching kits and instructions for use.
-Educate patients on oral hygiene, disease prevention, and prescribed treatment plans.
-Apply fluoride varnish and assist with other preventive dental procedures.
-Place and remove dental dams during treatment.
-Clean, sterilize, and maintain dental instruments and operatories in accordance with infection control policies.
-Monitor, stock, and order dental supplies to ensure treatment areas remain fully equipped.
-Perform routine maintenance and care of dental equipment following manufacturer guidelines.
-Maintain accurate electronic dental records and documentation.
-Support the day-to-day operations of the dental clinic to ensure efficient, high-quality patient care.


 

Qualifications

Required

  • Current Massachusetts Dental Assistant license issued by the Board of Registration in Dentistry.
  • At least one year of full-time (or equivalent part-time) experience as a Dental Assistant in a recognized dental practice.
  • Proficiency in four-handed dentistry.
  • Working knowledge of operative dentistry and general dental procedures.
  • Ability to work effectively with patients of all ages, including children and older adults.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate as part of a team and adapt to new procedures and technologies.

Preferred

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
