St. Jude Neighborhood Health Centers utilizes EPIC for our Electronic Medical/Dental Records (EMR) system.

Willing to travel between Buena Park, Anaheim & Orange locations

Essential Functions (What You Do)

Assists dentist with all DA functions as outlined by the Dental Board of California

Takes Quality radiographs and organizes them in the digital x-ray system.

Provides oral hygiene education to patients and families.

Responsible to accurate and complete documentation of patient care.

Schedules and confirms patient appointments, reschedules broken appointments, checks and responds to phone messages in a timely manner.

Checks insurance eligibility and documents information.

Arranges pick-ups with dental lab.

Restock supplies as needed.

Review patient care schedules in-advance ensuring pre-registration of new patients, assembles and send out new patient packets.

Answers incoming telephone calls.

Collects and accurately posts patient payments, communicate regarding and collect from patients outstanding balances. Provide patients with cost estimates.

Open, close and block patient care schedules as directed.

Drive and maintain mobile dental clinic as needed, report any repairs as needed. Ensures mobile unit is fully stocked and prepared for daily operations.

Requirements

Education: Completion of an Entry Level Dental Assisting Program

License/Certifications: Radiology Certificate

BLS certification

Valid Drivers License with a good driving record

Experience: Minimum 6-months of recent experience as a Dental Assistant

Minimum of 6 months of front office experience, scheduling, answering phone calls, payment & collections and patient care resolutions, etc.

Computer literate with working knowledge of MS office tools

Preferred Experience: Recent experience as a Registered Dental Assistant

License/Certifications: California Registered Dental Assistant

Radiology Certificate
