Dental Assistant - Contract

Summary:

• Monday-Friday 9:30-5:30pm

Responsibilities:

• Assist dentist during examination and treatment of patients.
• Seat patients and adjust chair and equipment; drape patients with sterile and appropriate coverings.
• Lay out dental instruments and supplies.
• Hand instruments to dentist during examination and treatment as instructed or required.
• Retract patient's mouth; operate suction equipment to maintain mouth free of secretions and sponge mouth at intervals.
• Administer mouthwash; assist in tooth extraction or other surgical interventions in oral cavity.
• Sterilize and clean linens and instruments; prepare for use.
• Maintain records of dental examinations, conditions found, treatments, and appointments.
• May assist in taking and developing dental X-rays.
• Mix amalgam and other filling materials as requested by dentist.
• Engage in moderate physical activity (e.g., occasional to prolonged standing, lifting, bending, filing, typing, etc.).

Requirements:

• BLS required.
• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Dental Assistant.
