JOB DESCRIPTION
THIS POSITION IS LOCATED ONSITE IN TALLAHASSEE, FLORIDA. THIS IS NOT A REMOTE POSITION.
Bracane Company is seeking a qualified Dental Assistant for an anticipated full-time federal healthcare assignment in Tallahassee, Florida. This position provides chairside and clinical support in a secure institutional healthcare environment.
The ideal candidate will have at least two years of full-time chairside dental assisting experience and be comfortable supporting a range of dental procedures while maintaining accurate patient records, infection-control standards, and professional patient care.
Responsibilities
- Provide chairside assistance during restorative dentistry, oral surgery, periodontics, prosthodontics, examinations, and other dental procedures.
- Prepare patients, treatment rooms, instruments, materials, medications, and equipment for procedures.
- Pass instruments, retract tissue, irrigate the oral cavity, and operate dental aspiration equipment.
- Prepare treatment rooms between patients and maintain required infection-control procedures.
- Assist with emergency dental cases as directed.
- Maintain accurate electronic and paper dental treatment records.
- Perform dental and periodontal charting.
- Provide dental health education and patient instructions.
- Take and process diagnostic dental radiographs, including digital and panoramic imaging, as authorized.
- Position patients and imaging equipment appropriately and follow radiation-safety procedures.
- Clean, sterilize, inspect, and maintain dental instruments and equipment.
- Assist with impressions, casts, temporary fillings, rubber dams, restorations, and other procedures within the permitted scope of practice.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with applicable healthcare privacy requirements.
- Follow all clinical, safety, security, and facility procedures.
Schedule / Work Location
This position is onsite in Tallahassee, Florida.
The anticipated schedule is Monday through Friday, excluding federal holidays, for up to 40 hours per week.
Typical work hours are generally:
- 6:00 AM–2:30 PM; or
- 7:30 AM–4:00 PM
The exact schedule may vary based on operational requirements and the assigned dental provider.
Qualifications
- Minimum of two years of full-time chairside dental assisting experience.
- Registered Dental Assistant.
- Specialty dental-assistant training through a licensed dentist and/or an accredited Dental Assistant school.
- Training in dental radiology and radiology safety.
- Current CPR certification through the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
- Ability to maintain accurate patient records and confidential healthcare
